For the past couple of years, I have been volunteering for the Phoenix Metro Bicycle Club’s annual Casa Grande Century. The first year I spent the fall season making some 100 signs for it. Duties include sign making, map making, route decisions, sign deployment, sign retrieval, sag support, and rest stop hosting.
Volunteering is both a lot of work and a lot of fun. But it made me want to do the ride myself as well. So for the official purpose of “scouting the route,” I rolled out on this loop ride one chilly December morning. Read more from the link below.
