Another small but pretty turtle

Dive Journal: Today is our last diving day in Cozumel. Johnny’s stomach is still on a see saw, and he decides to stay on the boat with Santiago for our first dive, here at Columbia Deep again.

Once again we enjoy the mountainous formations at this site, including some swimthroughs with near vertical walls. The healthy currents here produce huge tube and vase sponges.

We all spy a turtle early in the dive, but it goes quickly to 15 feet depth and stays there, making the viewing poor since we’re already at 40 feet. The currents today are pretty good and we’re now very comfortable maneuvering around in them. Midway through the dive, another turtle is discovered feeding on something on top of a coral head. This turtle tries hard to ignore us and so we get an excellent chance to check him out (and I get some good video to boot).

Clearly one of my favorite dives of this dive trip – 4 little men!
