Dive Journal: More divers have joined us for the mid-morning dive, including John! Greg is Debbie’s brother from Tucson. Johnny and I will be buddies this dive while Linda has fun with the video camera.

John is getting much more comfortable with every dive he does, and it is fun to dive with him. Early on the dive we spot a bright yellow trumpetfish – way cool. Most of the trumpetfish are reddish-brown – less common to see a yellow one.

Linda gets some excellent video of a smooth trunkfish – they’re so photogenic. Slightly down over the wall, we all finally get a great sighting of an indigo hamlet – very beautiful little fishes, a little bit uncommon to see.

On the wall topside, a stunning grey angelfish lets me closely approach – I love these guys!

Greg is not feeling well this dive and sucks down his air quickly. He then has to sit out the rest of our dive on the boat, and gets even more sick from the swells. No, not that sick!

“Welcome to Salt Cay!”
