preRA: Finally in Ocean Shores

Last day before we start.  Off early from Salem up I5, we arrived in Ocean Shores, WA in the late morning and Linda and I declared yet another new state.  The weather was surprisingly nice so we made a beeline for the Ocean Shores Golf Course and set up a tee time.   It was a fun round for us all even though at times we declared the course to be in “ratty ass” shape.

What are you doing down there, Jack?

The staffer at the golf course suggested we try out a nice restaurant up the coast called Ocean Crest, so we had our hotel book us a reservation there.   The meal we had there was extremely excellent, prepared with TLC.  It celebrated not only our 30th wedding anniversary, but also was a send-off dinner for Jack and me.  Midway through the meal, all the tables in our room started chatting with one another, and pretty soon we were howling in laughter at some of the antics.  GREAT PLACE.

The chef was particularly interested in our cycling adventure, and he even made this decorated plate as a part of our dessert, showing a long winding route starting in Ocean Shores, with a nod to our 30th.
